Echo
follows a 17 year old girl who begins the short film by answering a distressing call hearing that her dad has been involved in a motorbike accident. However, upon receiving help from a stranger who gets her a taxi and gives her some money we see that there is more to this story than upon first glance. The short film is interested in the effects of having a loved one die and allows the audience their own autonomy in the film and what happens to the protagonist.
mise en scene: colour palette is grey and un-saturated used to reflect that gritty realistic manner in which this short film takes place in while also adding a somber tone to it.
cinematography: used to give the audience an unbiased view of the sequences of events that is occurring by showing us perspectives of both the protagonists and the onlookers. The shots nearing the end of the film take on more shakey cam used to show the way Caroline is feeling in these moments; distressed which may mean this call was a flashback into when this situation first occurred but much like a lot of the rest of this short it is up to the viewer to decide.
